Mikel Aretxabaleta Regulez (Bilbao, 1988) I studied Advertising & Communication Studies at the University of Basque Country, coursing 3rd year at the University of Karlstad (Sweden) and last year at the Universidad del Pacífico (Santiago de Chile). In September 2010 I joined PUBLIS NCM as a creative copywriter, teaming with art director Nerea González. Together, we moved to Madrid in April 2011 to be part of the advertising and events agency Mil Vueltas. During 11/12 course I combined work with a Masters on New Media Creation Techniques at the Univesitat Oberta de Catalunya.

I also complemented my studies with several courses, such as Filmmaking at New York Film Academy or Screenwriting for Film and TV, The Future of Storytelling or Gamification Design, which made want to learn more about the production side of the ideas.

I came to London in January 2014. After a short period working in production, I landed in River Film, where I started working as a video editor. Due to the hectic nature of the company, I was soon involved at every stage of the production. From coming up with creative ideas to scriptwriting; assisting directors during pre-production and shoots; to editing and motion graphics.

In August 2017 I joined Spirable as a Creative. I worked on the strategy and conceptualisation of dynamic and personalised campaigns, using data to create content which was more relevant and in-the-moment. After some months, as Head of the Creative Department, I managed the creative resources and participated in pitches that won us some great accounts, such as Playstation, Heineken or British Heart Foundation.

In September 2019 I went freelance and I have been working with different brands and agencies ever since.
